What Our Customers Have to Say
“3D additive manufacturing allows us to create tangible, precise and accurate renditions of prototype parts and systems. We don’t need it every day, but when we do, PMI’s DEPTH group is our go-to source. They understand engineering as well as graphic output, which is the ideal combination.” – Aerospace Engineering Designer (El Segundo, CA)
3D Printing
In A Nutshell
We use the latest 3D printing technologies to assist our customers. We provide solid color models so they can view and touch their design revisions.
We offer 3-Dimensional Color printing services for a variety of different industries:
• ARCHITECTURE
• COMMERCIAL INTERIORS
• PRODUCT DESIGN
• APPLIANCES
• EDUCATION
• GIS / MAPPING
• MEDICAL
Use Color to Dramatically Communicate Design Intent Uniquely Multicolor:
• Produce realistic color models without paint
• Better evaluate the look, feel, and style of product designs
• 3D print text labels, logos, design comments, or images directly onto models
• Multiple print heads provide the best range of accurate and consistent colors
• Full 24-bit color, just like a 2D printer. Produce millions of distinct colors
• High-definition 3D printing produces models with complex geometries and small, detailed features
• 3D print the most intricate detail, such as a thin wall on a mechanical prototype or a railing on an architectural model
When Ideas Become Reality
3D Products are complex, profound and elegant. They represent, in our opinion, the future of manufacturing. And that’s how we view our 3D Additive Manufacturing platform. Your product concept or idea first emerges as an abstract thought. You think about it….maybe draw it or jot down some ideas. And that’s where most product ideas end – without advancing beyond the theoretical. But now, with 3D Additive Manufacturing, your idea can become a tangible reality within minutes.
PMI can work with CAD images, or can wrap-around scan any object – a machine part, a smart phone case, a toy, a clay mold or even a human body. Once the image has been captured and/or accessed, it can be manipulated. If your object is to design a new perfume bottle, a scanned image of your existing container can be altered and then saved as a new CAD file. And then it’s sent to the 3D printer. Moments later, your prototype rises like a mythical Phoenix. No need to gear up a production line when all you need is ONE of something.
This is the beauty of 3D Additive Manufacturing. PMI works with you – from concept to consultative advice to product creation. And then, if you’re so inclined, we’ll talk about casting your product and creating a just-in-time inventory or a business mechanism wherein you can order merchandise on an as-needed basis. It’s a radical, new and exciting avenue for entrepreneurial businesses. Act on your professional impulses. Create prototypes or models in record time. Alter or change them until you achieve perfection. It’s all happening NOW at PMI.

Our Process
3D Additive Manufacturing is revolutionizing business. Just as the internet and digital technology have forever changed how businesses communicate, 3D manufacturing (aka “3D Printing”) has forever changed how we view prototyping, modeling and product trials.

3D Printing Starts With An Image
Send us your image and we’ll tell you if it meets the requirements for 3D viability. If so, we’ll create a CAD (wireframe) file. If you have an existing CAD file, we can probably use it, although modifications may be necessary.
If it’s something we can capture with our “wand” scanner, that’s how we’ll begin the project. If you have no tangible images or product examples, we can work with sketches or renderings. We’ll work with you to create a viable product.
Image Manipulation
Once a CAD has been created, it can be manipulated. This is the stage during which alterations are made. If you’re altering an existing product or creating a new one, make sure it meets both design and manufacturing criteria before committing it to production.
Ready to Print
Once you’ve achieved the desired result, your file is ready to print. Whether it’s a model of a sophisticated military aircraft radar system or a simple iPhone case, a precise and accurate part emerges in minutes.
To Cast or Not to Cast
Once your 3D object is made, you have a choice. You can use it “as is”, or you can create a mold and cast multiple parts. If your object is a “one-off” prototype, you’re ready to go. If your objective is to create multiple pieces, we’ll create a mold and begin the manufacturing process.
Why Choose PMI?
PMI is fundamentally different from its competitors. We are an engineering company with graphics capability. Rather than simply “print” your files, PMI provides expertise regarding functionality and engineering design. Why create something if it doesn’t work? We’ll work with you during the entire process to assure that your idea comes to fruition – successfully.
